Health - City Health Partnership
A partnership has existed
between staff of Nottingham City
Primary Care Trust and the City
Council and the voluntary sector
for many years, working together
to improve health for the benefit
of the people of Nottingham.
They already have responsibilities
to the health service and to local
government. One Nottingham
asked City Health Planning (CHP) to also be the responsible
partnership for commissioning
of health improvement and
Neighbourhood Renewal Fund
(NRF) activity in the City in late
2005. They will be supporting
and developing services with
NRF and other resources that will
directly help the City to achieve
its Local Area Agreement health
targets, and have just started
that detailed planning.
Currently the partnership has
no officers but comprises staff working together as part of their
day-to-day responsibilities in the
health service, City Council and
voluntary sector. By July they will
have our first dedicated member
of staff and will be working with
One Nottingham (ON) to ensure
they have the right people
and structure to do this new
commissioning work. They are
very keen to get the membership
right so all suggestions are
welcome - please feel free to
contact the Partnership or
colleagues in the Community
Network with your suggestions.
