It's our open meeting on Monday 10 March, 2.00pm to 4.30pm at the Voluntary Action Centre on Mansfield Road. We'll be talking about what we want Community Network to achieve over the next year, building on the discussions at our annual meeting last summer. You'll also get a quick update on the work of each of the theme partnerships, and the chance to network with colleagues from all over the sector. It's an open meeting, so just come along on the day. Here's an easy way to get your five a day! Pop along to the Lenton Centre every Wednesday from 12.00 noon to 2.00pm and get a bag of locally produced fruit and vegetables for just £3. Volunteers to help run the programme are welcome too. Share this flier with people you know who live or work in Dunkirk or Lenton.
Due to demand, Understanding Tendering is a repeat of a previous workshop held in November. Effective tendering is about ensuring your tender scores well, and this workshop will help you understand how to do just that. It's on 17 March - email training@nottinghamcvs.co.uk to find out more and book your place. Bursaries for the voluntary and community sector may be available - please ask.
Descendants of all worlds is a photo documentary project that uses photographs to challenge prejudices. The project was launched at the House of Commons by Heartstone, and the exhibition is now in Nottingham. Come along between 6 and 28 March, 10.00am to 4.00pm Monday to Friday, to 181 Roadside Gallery on Alfreton Road, NG7 3NW. Here's the flier.
There is a new champion for patient and public involvement for the PCT in the East Midlands - Jenny Newman. The Hungerhill Allotments in St Ann's is Britain's largest and oldest surviving site. It is now the subject of a £3.3m regeneration initiative to improve and enhance the grounds. You can give your views and opinions on how this should be done, by clicking here.

The group is made up of community representatives, and it links the local community to the Mary Potter Centre to ensure that the services provided are high quality and meeting the needs of local people. This is notice of the City Council's plans for agreeing recurring grant aid. There will be a 12 week consultation on the process and priorities starting in March. You'll have at least two opportunities to talk about this at the City Council's Voluntary Sector Open Forum meeting on 7 April and Community Network's Open meeting on 12 May. We expect that the grant aid applications will be between July and September. If you're interested in recurring grant aid make a note in your diaries now.
Do you want to provide services to Nottingham City Council? Then you need to know about the new electronic procurement process using the internet. The City Council is holding a seminar about the new process especially for the voluntary and community sector.
