Don't forget it's our open meeting on Monday, 2.00pm to 4.30pm at the Voluntary Action Centre on Mansfield Road. We'll be talking about what we want Community Network to achieve over the next year, building on the discussions at our annual meeting last summer. Nottinghamshire Black Partnership (NBP) is calling for more ethnic minorities to get involved in shaping the city's future. NBP represents the interests of Nottingham’s Black and Minority Ethnic communities, and is changing the way it works to ensure that all these communities have a strong enough voice - reflecting the fact that the city is becoming more and more ethnically diverse. Kemet Radio is an urban/community station and as part of the Leon Graham Show, 10.00am to 1.00pm weekdays, we like to cover issues of interest and importance to local residents. Afrik, the African International Network, is a charity based in Nottingham. They have an African film event and registration day on 29 March. You can find out about their cookery and languages classes on this day too. Tell me more.

A seminar for black entrepreneurs and all those interested in starting their own business is being held on Sunday 6 April. Keynote speakers include well established local and national entrepreneurs, business experts and chief executives. Read the flier here and here.
School Governors’ One-Stop is a charity whose aim is to recruit school governor volunteers and place them in the schools across England that need them most. They are currently working with Nottingham City Council, encouraging people to get involved to make a difference to local children's education. Please share this flier with anyone you think would be interested.
The Early Intervention Team would like to invite you to the launch of the Early Intervention Programme on Monday 28 April. The event will be a chance to gain an overview of what early intervention means for Nottingham and what it will achieve. Last week we included an article about the regeneration initiative on the Hungerhill allotments. Contrary to what our article said, the consultation on this has closed and a plan is now in place. STAA manage the site, and Groundwork Greater Nottingham are the contractors for the capital works on the site. You can read the plan here: www.staa-allotments.org.uk
