Volunteer Centre Nottingham and Nottingham City Council are working together on two events to recognise the fantastic contribution made by anyone involved in unpaid community activity in the city. All volunteers and volunteer-involving organisations in Nottingham are invited to get involved in the events. You could have a stand, run 'taster' activities or provide entertainment in the Old Market Square on Saturday 7 June. Or, on Sunday 8 June at the Playhouse, there will be an opportunity to showcase your volunteer project’s achievements or nominate your volunteers to attend as a way of saying thank you.
There’s still time to register your interest – the original deadline has been extended until Friday 11 April. There are more details about how voluntary and community groups can benefit from getting involved in this year’s high profile events on the CVS website or contact the Volunteer Centre for more information on 0115 934 8400.
On Tuesday 25 March 2008, 6.30pm to 8.30pm, Hyson Green Youth Club will be holding a consultation around the re-development of the club's "Sports Barn" which in its heyday hosted a variety of sporting activities for many children, young people and families.
We would like the input from anyone who engages in any sporting activity in Hyson Green (and the surrounding areas). Come along and let the club hear your views on how our "Sports Barn" can be used once again to benefit the community. Tell me more!
