Early intervention launch event

The Early Intervention Team would like to invite you to the launch of the Early Intervention Programme on Monday 28 April.  The event will be a chance to gain an overview of what early intervention means for Nottingham and what it will achieve. Graham Allen, Chair of One Nottingham, will open the event. Book your place for this high profile event here.

 

Connected Radford or Hyson Green

Anyone who has an internet connection can now access the Neighbourhood Development Company Connected Radford and Hyson Green portal and follow the various links to locally relevant services. The portal is still very much a work in progress. We are therefore keen for people to access the site and send us their comments on it using the feedback form at the bottom of the menu on the left of the home page.

 

Physiotherapy self-referral pilot

Patients in Nottingham can now refer themselves for physiotherapy as part of a new pilot being run by the Primary Care Trust. The trial will be run through the PCT Rehabilitation Services for 12 months in order to assess the benefit and feasibility of such a scheme in Nottingham. Tell me more!

 

Sandwich board

Have a free sandwich and mingle with the One Nottingham Board and your peers at the next Sandwich Board lunch on Friday 25 April. Do something amazing

Give blood. A new blood donor session will be taking place on Tuesday 20 May at 12.30pm to 3.30pm and at 4.30pm to 7.30pm at Djanogly City Academy on Gregory Boulevard in Hyson Green. Centre for Social Justice Awards Scheme

With a prize fund of £50,000, these awards recognise and reward effective poverty fighting groups from across the UK.  For details of how to apply visit www.centreforsocialjustice.org.uk  Applications close 14 April 2008.

 

Women's Aid

The Women's Aid Pet Project aims to find foster homes for the pets of women involved with Women's Aid. The family pet may be left behind in the rush to give refuge to a victim and/or their children. The pet may also be a victim of domestic violence or had threats made against it.

Power Up

This is an exciting opportunity to make your local campaign more powerful and effective. Through a series of workshops Friends of the Earth will demystify the planning system and teach you how to use freedom of information laws. You will learn how to become a powerful player able to use the system for the benefit of your local community. Find out more.

Teacher Taster Course - 14-16 May. It is targeted at Black and Asian men and women who are interested in a career in teaching.
