Very photogenic

An exhibition of photographs showing positive news stories around Nottingham and the difference One Nottingham is making to people's lives is on display from Monday 28 April to Friday 9 May. It's at South Nottingham College and is open Monday to Thursday 9am to 8pm and Friday 9am to 4pm.

The photographs, showing the people behind the statistics, were taken by Toby Neal, who is currently a student on the Higher National Diploma in photography at South Nottingham College.  Find out more.

You are also invited to the launch event One Nottingham is holding in partnership with the college on Tuesday 29 April from 5pm. Details here.

Small Steps

Small Steps food co-op are recruiting volunteers. They would like to make the co-op self sustaining and need volunteers to make this happen. You don’t need to commit every week but enough people are needed to form a rota and to make decisions about the running of the coop. What's the food co-op?

Forest Recreation Ground

The Forest Project has been set up to restore the Forest Recreation Ground on Gregory Boulevard, Nottingham to its former glory. This is a fund of £60,000 from the National Lottery to put our ideas for the Forest into practice.

The Forest Project has been running for around five years now and is led by the Partnership Council, Nottingham City Council, Neighbourhood Development Company and the Friends of the Forest – a group made up of local residents and volunteers.

Come and give your views on how the money should be spent at a public event on Saturday 26 April at Djanogly City Academy, Hyson Green, 10am to 1pm. Food and refreshments will be provided. Find out more.

Evidencing our work

This University of Nottingham/Third sector seminar event will take place from 10.00am to 1.00pm on Wednesday 21 May, with lunch included - the venue is Room A19 (Committee Room), Trent Building, University of Nottingham, University Park. The flier.

The event is an opportunity for the sector to discuss with the University how we can evidence the impact of our work and improve our research credibility. We will also have the opportunity to discuss with a number of University researchers how they can support our work and make their own research more relevant to us.

This seminar has been organised by Sharon Clancy who is now Head of Active Communities at the University. We will explore other partnership possibilities including volunteering of University staff and post graduates, placements and employability issues etc. A full agenda will follow - but please get this in your diary now. It promises to be a really interesting and lively debate.

Please confirm your attendance by Friday 2 May to Jill Bennett on 0115 8467720 or email to jill.bennett@nottingham.ac.uk
