Our people, better chances

The Greater Nottingham Employment and Skills Board are hosting their partnership development and consultation conference Our People, Better Chances which will shape the future of integrated learning, skills and employability until 2011.

Citywide partnerships are invited to hear the keynote address from the Rt Hon James Purnell, Secretary of State for Work and Pensions as well as national best practice and local research. Expertise and creativity is invited to directly influence a Joint Commissioning Prospectus to be published later this year. Register for this event here.

Joint Strategic Needs Assessment

Say what?! The Joint Strategic Needs Assessment (JSNA) is the means by which Nottingham City Council and PCT will describe the future health, care and well-being needs of local people and how local services need to be adapted to meet those needs.

This is a really useful resource to help you understand the state of the city and its health needs. Have a look here.

Tender opportunity

The Strategic Partnership for Children Young People and Families (SPCYPF) has recommended the reconfiguration of services for children and young people in the following target groups:

  1. Children affected by domestic violence
  2. Children affected by parental substance use
  3. Young carers
  4. Refugee and asylum seeking children affected by trauma

The vision for the Children’s Empowerment Contract is to create integrated services offering a range of activities from signposting to therapeutic support.

As part of the process the SPCYPF is committed to seeking the views of children and young people to ensure these are considered as part of the contract development process. This specification sets out the activities to be commissioned to ensure a meaningful engagement exercise informs the developing Children’s Empowerment Contract.
