Community Network are inviting board members and community activists to an informal evening event to find out what the LAA means for your organisation. Take part in a research focus group to help public services understand the role of the media in shaping public perceptions of mental health. The research has been commissioned by SHIFT, part of the Care Services Improvement Partnership.

On Saturday 7 June there is an exciting interactive event in the Market Square that's open to all. There will be performances from community groups, workshop sessions, games, interactive 'tasters' of volunteering activities, demonstrations and stalls showcasing the work of local voluntary and community groups. The Olympic Games and Paralympic Games are about more than sport. Host cities must also stage the Cultural Olympiad - a series of events to showcase the city's arts and culture to the rest of the world. For the first time ever, London has won the right for culture to play a central role in the 2012 Games. The Cultural Olympiad will be launched on the weekend 26 – 28 September 2008, marking the beginning of a 4 year celebration.
