Local community group Nubian Link is recruiting up to 15 youngsters to participate in an innovative week of activities this summer. Kulture College is a summer school designed especially for African Caribbean and Dual Heritage people aged 12-15 providing them with a week of experiences that celebrates their rich cultural heritage. Get involved.
Dunkirk and Lenton Partnership Forum have some small grants available for local groups. Grants of up to £500 are available for groups or projects taking place in Dunkirk and Lenton which fit in with the Forum’s overall aims of working towards improving Dunkirk and Lenton for a broad range of people to live and work. Applications need to be submitted by Friday 22 August with decisions made in the first week in September by an independent panel. The money must be spent by the end of February.

City Council's Adult Services, Housing and Health are currently consulting on their draft carers' strategy. They are seeking as many views as possible on the strategy. Read the Carers' Strategy.

The joint strategic needs assessment (JSNA) shows the health and wellbeing status of local communities. It defines where inequalities exist, using local knowledge and evidence from local projects. Get a full update here.
Nottingham City Primary Care Trust (PCT) is inviting local people to help it develop and improve health services in the city. The Nottingham Citizens’ Health Panel will be made up of patients and members of the public who want to give their opinions and comments about local health services so that changes and improvements can be made. Panel members may be asked to complete four questionnaires each year for the PCT and to attend occasional focus groups, so that the NHS in Nottingham can gather their views.

East Midlands Single Platform is now officially One East Midlands, as launched at their conference on 30 June. You can visit their new website www.oneeastmidlands.org.uk where you'll find details of their new board.
Who are they? One East Midlands is the regional voluntary and community sector infrastructure organisation for the East Midlands. They work in partnership with stakeholders from throughout the VCS and beyond to ensure that the VCS is actively and genuinely engaged with key regional bodies and other partners from across the public, statutory, business and social enterprise sectors.
