Knowledge database

"We have a wealth of knowledge and experience here in Nottingham, so why do we keep on ignoring it and bringing people in from other places to tell us what to do?" - a frequently heard comment. Of course it is important to learn from good practice from beyond Nottingham, but we can also make much better use of our local expertise.

One Nottingham is looking to set up a database through which you can find people willing to share their knowledge, skills and expertise in particular areas. One Nottingham first need to know whether people would use such a database. Please fill in their short questionnaire to help advise them.

Self-directed support

Self-directed support is a new system for social care which puts people at the centre of assessing their own needs, and gives them the funding to decide how best those needs can be met. This is a model for how self-directed support works. The City Council came along to our open meeting last week, so you'll be able to read more about this when the notes are available.

If you're interested in staying connected or getting involved with self-directed support, let us know and we'll pass on your details to the City Council.
