At our meeting on 14 July, we learnt about Self Directed Support and heard about the work of Self Help Nottingham. We also caught up on the work of each of One Nottingham's theme partnerships. Didn't make it? Catch up with the notes here.

Commissioning Officer (Children's Services)
This is a new role working with voluntary sector organisations and Nottingham's Strategic Partnership for Children,Young People and Families. You will be an enthusiastic, motivated person with a strong commitment to improving the lives of children. By helping groups to develop partnerships you will be improving the services provided to children and families. The role requires you to have excellent partnership working skills.
Closing date: Wednesday 30 July 2008, 1.00pm
Following consultation by the City Council, it is launching its three-year grant aid programme. Details of the funding priorities the Council is looking to fund and how to apply will be available on their website from 23 July. The deadline for applications is 26 September 2008.
The City Council will offer a range of support over the next two months, including workshops in the next two weeks to explain what funding is available and how to apply. Details are available on their website.
The Voluntary and Community Sector Open Forum is where voluntary and community groups and the City Council sit down together to talk business. So these meetings offer you the chance to discuss important issues with the Council and make your views heard. It also gives you the chance to meet and develop ideas with other voluntary and community groups. Get these two dates in your diary:
