Working together in neighbourhoods

How is neighbourhood management working for you?

Community Network is giving you an opportunity to learn more about neighbourhood management and shape the city’s approach. We want voluntary and community groups to tell it like it is, and One Nottingham wants to listen.

If you're a voluntary or community group then come along and join the debate.

Change Makers

Change Makers is a new cancer project aimed at identifying, diagnosing and treating people with cancer earlier rather than later. It involves setting up 3 Change Maker teams in Aspley, Bilborough and Leen Valley, Clifton and the Meadows, who will work together to develop ideas about raising awareness of signs and symptoms within communities. Read more about the project and the launch event.

Police recruits

As part of the modernisation programme for initial training of Police recruits, student officers are now required to spend two 5-day placements in the communities which they will later work. Officers on placements should be able to learn about support groups, community groups and partners that provide community services.

Interested in taking a student officer for one of these placements? Find out how.

Small grants help NG7 bloom

Radford and Hyson Green has always been known for its community spirit, from the Radford Carnival to events like the NG7 United Sports Day, held at the Forest Recreation Ground on 26 and 27 July this year.

LINks - have your say

A local involvement network (LINk) is part of a new Government initiative to give local people a greater say on how their health and social care services are planned and run. LINks are independent and will be made up of local people, community groups and organisations to ensure that local views are listened to.

Your LINk will give you the chance to say what you think and to suggest ideas to help improve services. Read on...
